Like many others right now in the world, you are wondering if God really cares about you at all.
And you are probably saying this now, “I feel like God does not care about me.”
I am here to tell you this. God cares about you a lot, more than you even imagine.
I Feel Like God Doesn’t Care About Me – A Message for You
I know of a lady named Betty. She had a smooth ride through primary school till high school when she graduated at age 14.
She was an object of envy among her peers because of her smartness and, of course, was way ahead academically.
Her parents were average-income earners, and they were not wealthy, but they were comfortable.
However, after she graduated from high school, things began to take a new turn.
Her dad was dismissed from work. Hence, the family had to rely on her mum’s source of income to survive.
Amidst the crisis in her family, she managed to get herself a UTME form to process her admission into the University.
One month after her exam, her dad was diagnosed with stomach cancer.
From that moment, things deteriorated drastically in the family as all of the savings and income of the family had to be used for her dad’s chemotherapy.
She also had to take up a job as a salesgirl at a petty store to save up for her school and contribute to the family’s finances in her own little way.
The admission list for the University was released, and her name was on the list.
However, she didn’t have enough money to make up for her school fees, so she had to wait till the following year.
By the following year, her dad’s health had deteriorated, and the doctor had already told her and her mum to prepare for her dad’s burial anytime soon.
Sooner, her dad died, and she had to look up to her mum alone to fit in the shoes of both parents.
Because her mum needed to take care of her late dad, she was not performing well at work, and she was also dismissed from her job.
Therefore, her dad’s death opened up the portal for her mum and herself to start the journey all over.
4 years after her graduation from secondary school, she finally started school at Osun state university, studying Economics.
Three years into her stay in the school, during her first-semester examination, she was implicated by another student and caught with a paper carrying various answers in the examination hall.
Her innocence could not be proved so, she was dismissed from school.
I Feel Like God Doesn’t Care About Me
Reading through the story of Betty, is it justifiable for her to ask if God cares about her?
You can take a pause to answer this before continuing reading.
I understand the pain that comes with having to go through life with life throwing enormous stones that seem too weighty to bear at you.
However, Christ Jesus has told us that we will face trials and temptations in this world; however, we should be of good cheer because He has conquered the world for us.
While it may be painful when we pass through seemingly ‘odd’ circumstances, the good news is that Jesus is ever-present.
He sees and knows all we are passing through, and He is not leaving us to have it all figured out.
He says that I’ve given you victory even before this trial.
Just lean on me and let me carry you through the hurt, pain, disappointment, struggles, etc.
The devil’s deceit makes you believe that God does not care. God cares. In fact, it is his nature to care because He is love.
There’s a passage of the Bible that I love so much – Matthew 6:25-35.
It reminds me every time of God’s love for me and reminds me that I’m precious to God.
You are precious to God. This is not soothsaying, and it is reality.
God’s word is accurate, and God’s word said so. It’s my sincere desire that you really understand this.
God really cares about you. No matter the situation, please never forget that. It may be painful, but He really cares.
Therefore, even as you go through trying times, fill your heart with God’s words.
Let them resound in your heart loudly.
You could meditate on the following Bible verses.
Psalm 46:1
“God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.”
Psalm 55:22
“Cast your burden on the LORD, and he will sustain you; he will never permit the righteous to be moved.”
Jeremiah 29:11-13
“For I know the plans I have for you,’ declares the LORD, ‘plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Then you will call on me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.”
Hebrews 13:5
“God has said, ‘Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you.”
Exodus 33:14
“My presence will go with you, and I will give you rest.”
Psalm 62:5-8
“Yes, my soul, find rest in God; my hope comes from him. Truly he is my rock and my salvation; he is my fortress, I shall not be shaken. My salvation and my honor depend on God; he is my mighty rock, my refuge. Trust in him at all times, you people; pour out your hearts to him, for God is our refuge.”
1 Corinthians 10:13
“No temptation has overtaken you except what is common to mankind. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted he will also provide a way out so that you can endure it.”
I pray for you, may the peace of God which transcends all understanding guard your heart and mind in Christ Jesus.
May the love of God overwhelm you. May you continually behold the goodness and faithfulness of God in whatever situation you find yourself in.
You are strengthened. You walk in great victory.
Victory is certain. You will laugh at last in Jesus’ name. Amen! I love you.
I’ll love to hear from you in the comments section. I love you. Jesus loves you so much more!
