Intercessory Prayer Points for our Nation Nigeria

DAY 1: Wednesday 20th, March (Intercessory Prayers For Nigeria)

We’ll be praying for believers that have been placed in strategic levels and positions of authority in the government of the nation. We’ll be praying according to the following scripture:

Ephesians 1:15-17
Therefore I also, after I heard of your faith in the Lord Jesus and your love for all the saints, do not cease to give thanks for you, making mention of you in my prayers:  that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give to you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him

We pray that they have great wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of God. As they grow in Christ, as they understand who He has made them to be, they have wisdom to make the right decisions. They have wisdom to do things right.

We pray that their eyes are opened and they know God more, they love Him more.We pray that they are perfected in His will and run this country according to His leading as they have been equipped for every good work.

We also pray the same scripture for our church leaders, our Fathers and Mothers in the faith, all men and women God has used to establish Christianity in the nation, everyone serving the church in Nigeria in one capacity or the other.

DAY 2: Thursday 21st March, 2019 (Intercessory Prayers for Nigeria)

Ephesians 6:12:

For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers(‘Exousia in Greek, meaning influence), against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places“.

We are going to pray against demonic vibes, demonic influences that have led over the years to the creation of bad policies in Nigerian governance, killings etc. We are going to bring these authorities, influences to subjection. We are going to sound their judgements.
We sound judgements against territorial demons that have hence created fear in the minds of Nigerians, even Christians, demons that have held our leaders’ minds for so long and caused them to do wrong. We rebuke them.
We spend time praying in the Holy Ghost, increasing capacity and subduing these demonic forces.

2 Corinthians 10:3-5
For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war according to the flesh. For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds, casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ…”

DAY 3: Friday 22nd March, 2019 (Intercessory Prayers for Nigeria)

We continue along the line of prayers from yesterday.

Acts 13:8-11
But Elymas the sorcerer (for so his name is translated) withstood them, seeking to turn the proconsul away from the faith. Then Saul, who also is called Paul, filled with the Holy Spirit, looked intently at him and said, “O full of all deceit and all fraud, you son of the devil, you enemy of all righteousness, will you not cease perverting the straight ways of the Lord? And now, indeed, the hand of the Lord is upon you, and you shall be blind, not seeing the sun for a time And immediately a dark mist fell on him, and he went around seeking someone to lead him by the hand“.

We take authority over every hindrances and oppositions to the Gospel in Nigeria. We pray against every authority or influence that want to prevent the Gospel growing on a fertile soil in the hearts of men. We rebuke authorities that harden hearts from receiving, that steal God’s Word as soon as it is sown. We pray against demonic influences that fill men with traditions and lies that might want to choke the word of truth they receive. We rebuke such vibes.

We also pray for field missionaries and evangelists, those who take the Gospel to the unreached parts of Nigeria. We pray they are strengthened against oppositions. They are strengthened against persecution. They are equipped for the work. Strength is given to their mortal bodies to teach the Gospel. They have boldness to teach in spite of oppositions. Their Labour of love over the nation is not in vain. They are greatly provided for as they go into villages and other places. Their needs are met, their families are provided for.

Acts 4:28-31
Now, Lord, look on their threats, and grant to Your servants that with all boldness they may speak Your word, by stretching out Your hand to heal, and that signs and wonders may be done through the name of Your holy Servant Jesus. And when they had prayed, the place where they were assembled together was shaken; and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit, and they spoke the word of God with boldness“.

Day 4: Saturday 23rd March, 2019 (Intercessory Prayers for Nigeria)

Today we’ll be praying in accordance with the following scriptures:

Luke 4:14
Then Jesus returned in the power of the Spirit to Galilee, and NEWS of Him went out through all the surrounding region

Acts 5:14
And believers were increasingly added to the Lord, multitudes of both men and women...”

We cast our spirit over sectors and places. We send out positive vibes over those places. We pray that the Gospel reaches and touches men. Before missionaries even get there, news would have reached the people on what God is doing and they’d be ready to receive. We confess that we have taken over places. We have taken over sectors. We have taken over!

We harvest souls in Nigeria. Men run to this Gospel and are saved. They are filled. More ministries are birthed. The Gospel touches and reaches people like never before.
Nigeria experiences a supernatural revival as a whole unlike that any nation has heard. We see about 10 million souls won before the month of September. We see more than half of the population won for Christ, seeking God whole heartedly before next year.
This way, God heals our land. We pray this today.

Day 5: Sunday 24th March, 2019 (Intercessory Prayers for Nigeria)

Nigeria will yet see her great days after this exercise. Things will become greatly different.
Today, we’ll be praying for our political leaders in the nation.

1Timothy 2:1-3
Therefore I exhort first of all that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks be made for all men, for kings and all who are in authority, that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and reverence. For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior”

We pray God’s will for them, that they are succumbing to God’s will even as they lead the nation. We pray they have wisdom to make decisions and these decisions are based on what God would have them do in this nation.

We pray this nation is led in consistency with God’s will. This nation is restored back to purpose. Our leaders’ hearts which have been hardened in the past are now malleable to God’s will. God Himself takes the reins of government in the nation. Nigeria is led in accordance with God’s will.
We also pray that whosoever is in any position of authority in the nation but should not be there, maybe should be helping the nation in another capacity, is removed. We pray that only those whose hearts will be aligned with what God is doing in Nigeria will be made to lead.

Proverbs 21:1:
The king’s heart is in the hand of the Lord,
Like the rivers of water;
He turns it wherever He wishes“.

Day 6: Monday 25th March, 2019 (Intercessory Prayers for Nigeria)

Today we’ll be praying for the sectors of the country’s economy. We pray that they are blessed, that every sector aligns with God’s will. We speak God’s Word over the sectors. We confess that the sectors begin to yield riches for the nation. We pray that the educational sector produces intellectual giants that have a say in the world’s power, the power generating sector etc. are all blessed.

We pray for the head of each sector. They have the wisdom to lead aright. We pray that believers begin to occupy positions of authority in each sector.
We pray that Nigeria becomes a world power. The debts of the nation are paid off and Nigeria begins to lend, even give to other nations. Nigeria provides solutions.

Deuteronomy 15:6:
For the Lord your God will bless you just as He promised you; you shall lend to many nations, but you shall not borrow; you shall reign over many nations, but they shall not reign over you

Deuteronomy 28:12:
The Lord will open to you His good treasure, the heavens, to give the rain to your land in its season, and to bless all the work of your hand. You shall lend to many nations, but you shall not borrow“.

Day 7: Tuesday 26th March, 2019 (Intercessory Prayers for Nigeria)

Today is the last day of the Fasting and Prayers. We are praying according to Psalm 124.

If it had not been the Lord who was on our side,” Let Israel now say— “If it had not been the Lord who was on our side, When men rose up against us, Then they would have swallowed us alive, When their wrath was kindled against us; Then the waters would have overwhelmed us, The stream would have gone over our soul; Then the swollen waters
Would have gone over our soul.”Blessed be the Lord, Who has not given us as prey to their teeth. Our soul has escaped as a bird from the snare of the fowlers; The snare is broken, and we have escaped. Our help is in the name of the Lord, Who made heaven and earth“.

Here, David thanks God for his dealings with Israel. We do the same. We thank God for His dealings with our nation, Nigeria. We thank Him for our prayers and supplication have been answered. We thank Him because we begin to see results.

We also thank Him for the vision and prophecy received.

Then we give a shout of Joy and rejoice concerning the nation, Nigeria. This is an instruction.

Colossians 2:7
rooted and built up in Him and established in the faith, as you have been taught, abounding in it with THANKSGIVING…”

Colossians 4:2
Continue earnestly in prayer, being vigilant in it with thanksgiving…”
